The Role of a Media Researcher

The role of a Media Researcher originates from Anglo-Saxon TV production models. At the BBC, in Canada, or the United States, a team producing mid-to-long-form content typically includes three key roles: the journalist-writer, the director, and the researcher. In Canada, the term Recherchiste is used as the French equivalent of researcher. RTS partially adopted this model for its magazine-style programs.

My Experience as a Media Researcher

As a Media Researcher, I designed and conducted investigations for RTS TV and radio magazines, as well as during my freelance journalism work. My responsibilities included documentary research, market investigations, dossier analysis, field investigations, idea development, data analysis, and fact-checking. I also assessed the feasibility of projects.

I identified, selected, and pre-interviewed a diverse range of interlocutors—scientists, politicians, economists, cultural figures, academics, association representatives, interest groups, and civil society actors. Additionally, I organized shoots in Switzerland and abroad.

My work in data and statistical research extended across various thematic dossiers. View my research and investigations

Some of my reports achieved significant audience impact and influenced public opinion. I also had the opportunity to program live music for a weekly talk show and cultural program.
